Flying to the UK

If flying in to the UK we would recommend that Southampton or Heathrow are best options for ease of travel to Southampton city centre.

Southampton Airport: Southampton airport has 13 airlines/tour operators serving around 48 destinations.  For details on the routes served visit www.baa.com/main/airports/southampton or Tel: +44 (0)870 040 009.  From the airport a taxi is the fastest option though there is a direct bus service that leaves the airport and goes directly to the NOCS (visit www.uni-link.info) for schedules.

Heathrow Airport: If flying in to Heathrow airport, and you wish to take public transport to Southampton we would recommend that the coach is the fastest route.  Direct coaches take approx 1 hour 35 mins.  Either get off at Southampton coach station and take a taxi to the NOCS or ask about changing at Highfield bus interchange and take the public bus directly to the National Oceanography Centre.  Visit www.nationalexpress.com for coach timetables and www.uni-link.com for details on the public bus running from Highfield bus interchange.

By Ferry

Portsmouth is approximately 30 minutes by road and has regular services to and from Cherbourg, Caen, Le Havre, St Malo and Bilbao.  Visit www.portsmouth-port.co.uk for more info.
